Our Experience at California Donuts ??✌?

Until more recently, I have never been a huge donut person. However, while on the mission to lose my baby weight, when ever we would splurge and reward ourselves with a cheat day, I kept gravitating towards donuts! My husband was like, “Really?! You want donuts again?” Usually, I would never pick donuts first. I’m not sure why but, I’m all about the donuts now. We have a lot of great donut spots around where I’m from! We’ve been slowly checking them off!

As we were trip planning, we decided we would make the drive into LA so, I knew we HAAAAD to make a stop at California Donuts! I’ve seen so many yummy photos floating across Pinterest and Instagram featuring California Donuts!

We put the address (3540 W 3rd St. Los Angeles, CA 90020) into our GPS and we were off! Upon arrival, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. I’m not really sure what I was expecting but, it wasn’t this. It’s just a little “hole in the wall” place. Those are usually the best! The actual building is located in a strip mall. There is a very small parking lot. We were blessed because, as soon as we pulled up there was someone pulling out. If you can’t find parking in the lot, there is street parking all around. It stinks but, that’s to be expected in any dense, city location.

Since Palace was sleeping and because of the way it was set up, (you can’t actually go inside the building, there is an outdoor window you order at) I decided to just get out on my own. There were so many yummy donuts to choose from! They have two types, “Specialty” and “Original” The “Origianl” were $1 each or a set price for a dozen. The “Specialty” were all priced individually no matter how many you ordered. It was hard to decide but, I opted for some of the most colorful and fun looking ones! After all, that is what California Donuts is known for!

NOTE: Both people that helped me while I was there were very nice and helpful! I had a great experience!

There isn’t a place to eat inside and we had lots of other places to visit that day, I decided to take our donuts with us and eat them somewhere by the beach! We ended up finding a quiet, grassy, beautiful spot right by some big palm trees (MY FAV ?) next to Santa Monica Beach!

The snickers donut totally surprised us! When you bite into it there is an actual snickers bar inside!!!! ?

My favorite was the Blueberry Toast Crunch donut! I wasn’t so sure about that combo at first but, I just loved the way it looked! ? When we actually tried it, it ended up being the favorite of both, Mason and I!
